Egemová, Olga ; Svěcená, Kateřina (advisor) ; Kulhánek, Adam (referee)
Background: In Czech Republic, the use of addictive substances in the general population is regularly evaluated. In people with spinal cord lesions, the issue of substance abuse is not sufficiently mapped. Difficulty to get feedback can also play a role in this regard. There are many factors for possible risky behavior in people with spinal cord lesions. In Czech Republic, there are several aftercare facilities that comprehensively address clients with spinal cord lesions. In these facilities, obtaining feedback from this specific group of clients would help get better target interventions and set up other specific services for the monitored subpopulation. Objectives: The main goal of the research was to map the issue of dependence on legal and illegal addictive substances in a group of people with spinal cord injuries after injury or illness. A secondary goal was the feedback from the Centre's clients on whether and how they would use addictology counseling. Methods: Data for quantitative research were obtained by voluntary questionnaire survey. Questionnaires were gradually obtained from the centre's clients in person between the three waves of the covid epidemic between 2020 and 2021. Users of addictive substances as victims of criminal activities - research among clients and patients of addiction services in Prague
Kosařová, Hana ; Fidesová, Hana (advisor) ; Šťastná, Lenka (referee)
Background: The topic of crime is interconnected with substance abuse users. While most studies and statistics focus on primary criminal activities and economically motivated crimes, the chapter on criminal activities committed against clients is underrepresented. Crime victimization statistics are brief, and limited information is available about them. Victimization studies, which provide some information in this field, often exclude substance abuse users, or their substance use is not the subject of inquiry. Literature suggests that victimization of substance abuse users is a complex issue that is linked to many other problems. Objectives: The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to map the prevalence of criminal activities committed against substance abuse users and to examine the relationships between general victim characteristics and the crimes committed against them. Another objective is to determine whether and how often they report these crimes, under what circumstances, and conversely, what obstacles prevent them from reporting. A significant goal is to create at least a rough understanding of the mentioned issues, which could then serve as a foundation for further research and investigation. Methods: The research was conducted using a quantitative questionnaire in paper format. It was...
Drug use among skateboardists
Kačer, Amalie ; Petruželka, Benjamin (advisor) ; Barták, Miroslav (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of substance abuse among skateboarders. I assumed that marijuana is more used among skateboarders. In the Czech Republic there is almost no publication on this topic. In foreign studies we read that substance use is higher among adolescents who play extreme sports. Furthermore, foreign authors state that substance use and skateboarding are independent manifestations of masculinity. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to analyze and describe the role of substance abuse in skateboarding subculture. In this thesis I decided to take a qualitative approach, where I collected data through semi-structured interviews. The research sample consists of six men. The results are divided according to the research questions into five categories and the last sixth category deals with the analysis of the CAST questionnaire. The results show that skateboarding is taken as a lifestyle in the first place, then skateboarding is described as an organized sport. The results also show that marijuana has a role to play and is closely linked to the skateboarding subculture. Other illicit substances are used sporadically and are attributed to individuals rather than to the subculture as a whole. Motivations for use vary from substance to substance. The results further suggest that...
